EGU, the European Geosciences Union, is Europe’s premier geosciences union, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the Earth, planetary, and space sciences for the benefit of humanity, worldwide. It is a non-profit international union of scientists with about 15,000 members from all over the world.
Every year, the EGU awards & medals programme recognises eminent scientists for their outstanding research contribution in the Earth, planetary and space sciences. In addition, it identifies the awardees as role models for the next generation of early career scientists to foster geoscience research.
All the prizewinners will receive their medals at the EGU 2019 General Assembly, which will take place in Vienna on 7–12 April.
