7th Digital Earth Summit (DES-2018), 17 - 19 April, El Jadida, Morocco
The 7th Digital Earth Summit (DES-2018) under the overarching theme “The Digital Earth for Sustainable Development in Africa” has just taken place, for the first time in the African continent, in El Jadida, Morocco from 17 to 19 April 2018.
DES-2018 was organized by the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) and the Chouaib Douakkali University (UCD) in partnership with the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE) and the Moroccan Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (MARSE).
The event provided participants with an opportunity to learn about the latest trends and applications of the Digital Earth as well as forging new connections with subject matter experts from Africa and across the globe.
Paolo Mazzetti gave an oral presentation on "Indicators generation for SUstainable Development Goals: the ECOPOTENTIAL Virtual Laboratory Platform.
During the Closing Ceremony, the organization of the ISDE Symposium 2019 in Florence on 24 - 27 September was announced.
The Summit was preceded by the 13th Council Meeting of the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), held in the Headquarter of the Chouaib Douakkali University of El Jadida.
